Vayu's Gas Price Simulator is an interactive online educational tool that allows you to see how the main market fundamentals influence the price of gas; from weather forecast to demand outlook to the price of oil.

There are two parts:

• The Gas Price Simulator

  The gas price Simulator gives you, the user, the ability to move the key indicators of price movements and see how they can impact the price of gas.
  Click on the gas Gas Prices Simulator tab to access the tool.

• Historical Gas Prices

  This is real historical data of both the outturn price of gas and demand for gas in GB. This will help you understand the relationship between the outturn price of gas and the demand factors.

Using the Model

• The graph displays the actual current market gas prices and also the forecasted demand for gas in Great Britain (GB). This allows you to see the relationship between gas prices and demand.
• Click on the bottom part of the chart to drill into a specific period. Press F5 to re-fresh.
• The table beside the graph displays current market prices for selected delivery periods.
• You can compare these gas price simulator prices to actual current market prices.
• The Main Indicators table shows the key drivers of the price of gas.
• Use the interactive "Main Indicator" sliders below to see how the main drivers can influence the price of gas.
• Future demand is the forecasted demand as predicted by the National Grid on the GB Gas Network for each of the forthcoming 12 months. It is measured in Million Cubic Metres (MCM).
